Data Cards in Canvas App

Data cards in a Canvas app refer to the containers used to display and edit data from a data source. These data cards are typically used in conjunction with data controls such as galleries, forms, or tables to present data to users and allow them to interact with it.

Data cards can display a single field from a data source or multiple fields arranged in a specific layout. For example, a data card could display a user’s name, email address, and phone number all in one card. Data cards can be customized to include labels, icons, images, and other UI elements to enhance their visual appearance and usability.

When a data card is selected in the app designer, its properties panel will display on the right side of the screen. The properties panel allows the user to specify which data source and field the data card is connected to, as well as modify various settings such as the card’s color, font, and size.

In addition to displaying data, data cards can also be used to edit or create new records in a data source. By setting the card’s Edit mode to “Edit” or “New”, users can modify existing records or add new ones directly within the app.

Overall, data cards are a powerful tool for building custom data-driven apps in Canvas. With their ability to display, edit, and create data records, they allow users to interact with data in a way that is intuitive, efficient, and tailored to their specific needs.
